Meters & Landscaping

When landscaping or mowing your property, please do not cover water meters with mulch, shrubs or plants, and avoid driving over water meters with lawn equipment. Meter box lids contain a communication device used for meter readings commonly called a "mushroom cap". Customers may be responsible for replacement costs if this equipment is damaged.
In addition, covering meter boxes with landscaping can interfere with communication to our system and prevent necessary meter maintenance. If you experience a leak or other water-related emergency, obstructed meter access can make it extremely difficult to respond quickly.

Take Care When Mowing

Please avoid going over water meters when mowing. Meter box lids contain a transmitter for meter communication and readings called a "mushroom cap". Customers may be held responsible for replacement costs if damaged. In addition, please ensure that mushroom caps and meter box lids are clear of mulch, etc. Thank you for your help!
